Winter season affects the performance of the vehicle in diverse ways, hence suitable maintenance should be provided to the vehicle during winter season in order to minimize the effects of the winter season on the vehicle. Parts of the vehicle like tire, different types of fluids, timing belt, which has possibility to get affected during winter season should be inspected on a daily basis and if any types of damage found, then it should be immediately repaired.

Winter has adverse effects on the vehicle. In the winter the winter mud, ice & snow makes the vehicle dirty. So spring cleaning of the vehicle is necessary. We should wash & wax the exterior portion of the vehicle. The carpets and the seats must be cleaned. We should also change the oil & oil filter ,check the essential fluid level, fix the windshield, maintain the washer fluid, replace the wiper blades. Regular servicing of all the components must be done in spring.

After winter's onslaught of salt, slush ,snow and ice, a clean sweep is necessary specially on the underside. Besides doing spring cleaning, we should also perform some maintenance tasks such as changing the oil and oil filter, checking the fluids, fixing the windshield, checking the light system, properly inflating the tires etc. The tire tread depth should be inspected at regular intervals. Windshield wipers are used more often during winter and wear out. So they should be replaced with suitable substitutes with the advent of spring.
